About me:

• Current course representative of logistics and supply chain management in master level, and a candidate for academic experience officer role.
• My academic journey was at universities in different countries, Iran, Italy and UK. Which brings different experience and perspective.
• I was a member of ESN group, we used to organise events, vacations, finding accommodation for students and many other support and services.
• I am interested in teamworking and brainstorming to improve the system.
• I am always observing whatever is going on around me and thinking about how I can improve it. No matter how good it is!!

How to improve students’ experience at university:

• Finding an accommodation is a nightmare for international students, because they do not have a guarantor. In the future we will ask university to support us in this regard
• most of the students’ concerns is regarding their life after graduation and finding a job. We will try to arrange some workshops and job shops to prepare their knowledge and their skills for the future job. As an example, we can identify students’ skill, such as programming language, and invite them to arrange a workshop, of course with reward from university.
• Course Representatives should not sit in isolation, Course reps are not introduced to students, so students do not know to whom they can refer to talk about their academic issues.
• More teamworking activities in each course which is important for student’s professional life. Result is classmate engagement in group activities and sharing their experiences and ideas.
• Professors are role model for students, they have to be punctual if they expect students to be punctual. Define deadlines for professors, sometimes professors might have delay to publish a feedback or marks, which can influence on students’ plan (such as delay in dissertation supervisor allocation with impact on whole process of dissertation).
• Professors’ feedback on assignment in a way that help students to be ready and improve for next assignment.
• Right format and structure for each exam better to be announced by professor. As an example: in the university website (Library) it was explained how the structure of essay should be, but not in detail. Example: not mentioned that in essay heading is not correct. Furthermore, most of students are not aware that library can support us in our assignment, it would be good if we announce them in a different way or time to make this service bolder.
• Create a group in Ms Teams for each course for students’ interaction.
• Each professor better to talk about careers associated with their course that they are going to teach, to give wider perspective to students.
• More support for dissertation topic. Help students to find the hot topics. We can prepare a file with all professors’ backgrounds and field of research, which may give students variety of ideas and see which one can be their field of interest.
