Hello, I am Meghana Murthy, an international student studying Msc Creative Technology.  I am running for the Activity and event officer. I have been involved in events for students from a young age.

During High school, I have done many leadership roles, such as being a peer mentor and a global buddy to students and held social and charity events for the students to enjoy and earn money for charity.

During my bachelor’s, I was an orientation leader for fresher students. I have also conducted social events with my co-teammates since I was a vice president of an art club and a social media officer for an Indian club.

All these experiences will show that I am an ideal candidate for this role ... During all these experiences, I have developed many skills like social and public speaking, teamwork, leadership, and communication. It has also taught me many life lessons I will carry for the rest of my life.

I have always told myself when doing things: WHERE THERE IS A WILL, THERE IS A WAY ….

Being a first-time international student, societies and the student union have made me feel very welcome, safe, and at home here, and I want to do the same for all the freshers and current students here.

If I win this election as an activity and events officer, I promise to make your time at this university an enjoyable, memorable experience that you will never forget with unique and fun events that everyone can enjoy.

These include games night, quiz night, karaoke night, students’ party nights, different culture festival nights, AND MANY MORE FUN EVENTS IN THE HIVE, SO YOU DON’T HAVE TO SPEND A LOT IN CLUBS. I will also hold sports events, frequent outdoor touring, and many more….
