Hi! I’m Megha Mehta and am standing for the Activities and Events Officer position for the upcoming Students Union Election 2023.

I am on a mission to create an inclusive campus environment that celebrates diversity and fosters a sense of belonging for all students at Leeds Beckett University.

To achieve this, I plan to …

• Host cultural events and community-building activities

• Organise skill-swap events where students can learn from each other.

• Establish a mentorship program that connects students with peers, faculty, and staff who share their professional interests and backgrounds.

• Encourage and support student-led initiatives that promote diversity and inclusivity.

• Create an internal Leeds Beckett portal that will act as a one-stop for all the information about the university's services and resources.

And let's not forget about practical support services.

I want to launch a crowdfunding platform specifically for students to raise funds for emergencies or unexpected expenses.

Together, these initiatives will create a vibrant and inclusive campus culture where all students feel supported, connected, and empowered to succeed. Through mentorship, cultural events, community-building activities, and practical support services, we can build a campus culture that values diversity, fosters inclusivity, and supports the needs of all students.
