Hi guys, I’m Kunal Tikmani. I’m from Kolkata, India and in my 1st year here studying Business and Management at LBU. I am a very outgoing and social person who takes his responsibilities very seriously as my peers in school had trusted me to represent them in my schools’ student union for five years in a row as their class representative.
I am standing in the Student Union elections to represent our international community, which I feel is really under-represented in our university and I believe I can change that.
A few problems which I have experienced and will tackle after being elected as the international communities leader would be, increasing engagement between international students by hosting weekly multi-cultural events and game/movie nights, separate events for undergrad and master students, forming discussion groups for students where they can talk about the problems they are dealing with, and help students with accommodation searches and financial aid. I would also help in promoting the lbu global village Instagram account where all details about different events are posted, to engage more international students to be a part of it.
I am the best suited for this position because I know I can bring some changes to the existing system and make the university experience for our communities more inclusive and exciting.
