Bonfire Night is right around the corner, and what better way to kick off November than taking in the glowing site of firework displays and warm crackling bonfires. Bonfire Night, also known as Guy Fawkes, is celebrated every 5th of November here in the UK to mark Fawkes' failed attempt to blow up Parliament in the Gunpowder Plot in 1606. One of the main things you need on bonfire night is fireworks, of course, so we've compiled some of the best events happening in Leeds this 5th of November! 

One of the most popular displays in Leeds is at the Beck & Call (Meanwood, LS7 2SP), with two major firework shows paired with an array of market and food stalls. Tickets are £7pp for adults/ £5pp for children, and you can book yours here.

If you're looking for a bit more fanfare, the Moortown Rugby Club (Moss Valley, LS17 7NT) will boast fire-breathers, rides, fire engines and live music to get the started. But be sure to stick around as they finish off the night with one of the best fireworks displays in Leeds!

You don't have to go to a huge fireworks display to really enjoy the evening though! Some other ways to celebrate the night could be meeting up with your mates or enjoying the evening together! Pick up a pack of sparklers or glow sticks from your nearest shop and play some games. Just remember to keep a bucket of water nearby to put out the sparklers, and have fun. 

Bonfire night is also a great opportunity to try out some autumnal treats! Test out some bonfire night recipes with your friends, like this s'mores dip which is sure to go down a treat. There are also some more traditional recipes you could test out like a Parkin Cake: a sticky cake containing oatmeal, ginger, treacle and syrup.
