Howdy Everyone! It’s Meg your Academic Experience Officer and I’m here to give you a whistle stop tour of everything that I have been getting up to in my role since commencing my second term in office.
As a second-year officer I have built upon the solid foundations I put in place both whilst working alongside you as students, and also on my projects and ideas to ensure they create the most impact as possible to make sure you have the best academic experience whilst here at Leeds Beckett.
As many of you may be aware I have additional needs and am very open about this. I have now secured the one-to-one help I need to carry out my role and I feel optimistic for what the future holds!
So, here is a roundup of all the things I have been doing since July 2022:
- I have supported course reps and Student Academic Representation Assistants with their work
- I ran a public speaking session as part of the ongoing development for course reps
- I have been involved in the overall planning for our upcoming Leadership Elections in March 2023
- I have written various articles to support you as students
- I have secured funding for sunflower lanyards, and we will soon be giving them out to you, so stay tuned for that!
- I have attended boards and committees to represent you and your academic interests
- I have started to make progress on my objectives including working closely with a number of courses and schools
- I am the student lead on the Teach Excellence Framework, and have been working hard to plan what the student submission will look like and how I can support the process
I hope you enjoyed hearing about what I have been getting up to and any questions please do get in touch with me on m.darroch@leedsbeckett.ac.uk!
Happy Holidays!
