Communities

Student communities and societies are the best way to meet new friends and find your people, whilst developing new interests, campaigning for meaningful change, and building new skills. LBSU is committed to providing a community for every student whether that be based on your area of academic study, liberation and equality groups, your faith or your nationality.

Make New Friends

Joining a community is one of the best ways to meet new friends who are like-minded and, as cliche as it sounds, they could be a friend for life.

Get Connected

Networking is a great way to kick start your future career. Joining a community can be a great way to meet people who can help you with your development and provide opportunities that go beyond those of the lecture theatre and university.

Develop Future Career Skills

Communities provide you with the opportunity to learn and develop skills from teamwork to events planning to budget management to leadership as well as many other transferrable skills. These skills can give you an extra edge when looking for future career opportunities.

Try Something New

What better time than coming to university than to try something new? By joining a community, not only can you indulge in activities you enjoy, but you can also try something you may never have tried before!

Gain Confidence

Joining a community can help you develop interpersonal skills with people from a wide range of backgrounds and improve your confidence with other people.

Join without a student ID

If you are a LBSU staff member, LBU staff members, a LISC students, or under certain circumstances a student from another university, you can join our communities as an Associate member. To set up your membership please fill out thisform.
